How Old Was Jesus When He Was Baptized

How old was Jesus when he was baptized? Did he weigh more than 200 pounds? Is there any way to know how tall he was? The Bible doesn’t tell us much about Jesus’ physical appearance. But we can look at other historical and archaeological sources for clues about his life on earth—and even make some estimates based on these clues.

How Old Was Jesus When He Was Baptized?

Jesus was about 30 years old when he was baptized. John the Baptist had recently been preaching in prison and telling people to repent and prepare for the coming Messiah, who would baptize with fire (Matthew 3:11). When Jesus came up out of the water after his baptism, heaven opened up for John and a voice from heaven said “This is my Son” (Matthew 3:17). This attests to the fact that Jesus’ baptism fulfilled all righteousness and prepared him for what was to come.

Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan River near Bethany-beyond-the-Jordan just north of Jerusalem (John 1:28). The idea behind baptizing someone is that it symbolizes cleansing from sin as well as being buried with Christ in order for one’s life to be raised eternally with Christ (Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12).

Jesus spent 30 years on earth in preparation for his 3½-year ministry.

  • Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the son of Mary and Joseph.
  • He was baptized by John the Baptist, who had been sent from God to baptize with water for repentance.
  • Jesus spent 30 years on earth in preparation for his 3½-year ministry.
  • Jesus was crucified at Golgotha (the place of the skull), after which he died and gave up his spirit to God.

How Much Did Jesus Weigh and Measure?

As you can see, Jesus was a remarkable individual. He was tall, strong and smart. He was also very handsome.

He had many friends and followers who admired him for all of his qualities. His death is still considered one of the most important events in human history because he died to save us from our sins so that we could live with God after death. Here are a few guesses people have made about the weight and measurements of Jesus.

There are many guesses about the weight and measurements of Jesus, but here is a look at what some scholars believe.

  • A common belief is that Jesus was about 5’10”. This seems to be backed up by historical records, which show him as being slightly shorter than John when they were both baptized.
  • Another piece of evidence used to support this claim is that he wore a tunic (or robe), which would have been made out of fabric that was 28 feet long in length and 3 feet wide at its widest point. According to estimates based on these dimensions, if Jesus weighed around 150 pounds while wearing it then he could have been anywhere between 5’11” and 6′.
  • Using these numbers we can also estimate his chest measurement: 38 inches; waist measurement: 29 inches; hip measurement: 33 inches

Jesus was buried in a tomb, but after three days he rose from the dead. Jesus appeared to his disciples and many others during the next forty days. Then he ascended into heaven to be with GodThe baptism of Jesus also fulfilled a prophecy from the Old Testament. Isaiah had prophesied that Israel’s Messiah would come and be baptized by John (Isaiah 42:1-4). Jesus came to fulfill all righteousness and God’s Law, so he was baptized in order to fulfill this prophecy as well as othersYou can also find me here or here; and shoulder width: 17 inches. If we look at these numbers, it is easy to see why Jesus was considered to be tall for his time period….

What we do know is that God is bigger than our understanding.

Let’s take a step back. When we consider the idea of Jesus being bigger than our understanding, we have to remember that God is bigger than any human being’s understanding and imagination. This means that God has always been bigger than Jesus—and will always be so.

Jesus was a man born 2,000 years ago with a specific set of qualities and abilities (some unique to him and some shared with other humans). He also came from an extremely religious background that had much influence on what he learned about God before his baptism at age 30: he knew there was only one true God who created everything in existence; he believed in angels; he knew how important it was not to sin against others; etc. And these were all things taught by Jewish people during his lifetime—Jews who had their own ideas about how they related to others around them as well as how they understood their own relationship with God.

The age of Jesus Christ at his baptism is still a matter of debate. What we do know is that God is bigger than our understanding and that he has the power to do anything he wants–even make his son look like a baby!
