Welcome to St Mark’s United Methodist Church, located in the heart of Westport. We are a church who seeks to be a welcome community of faith that is open and inclusive to all God’s people. Join us for worship at one of our services or drop by the office during regular hours.

Worship times and office hours

Worship times are 8:30 and 11 a.m., with Sunday School at 9 a.m. The office is open from 9-4:30 weekdays and closed on weekends.

The church offers a number of activities for the whole family, including youth groups, men’s and women’s Bible studies, preschool programs and Vacation Bible School. The church also hosts community outreach events throughout the yearIt is also equipped with a full sound system, which includes an amplifier and wireless microphone..

It is an intimate space that can be used for small musical performances or worship services.

8:30 AM – Traditional Worship Service in Wesley Chapel

Wesley Chapel is a small chapel with seating for approximately 80 people. It is handicap accessible, and has a full audio system and video screen.

9:45 AM – Sunday School

Every Sunday, the church offers a morning service that is open to all ages.

The children are divided into two classes: the “big kids” go to Sunday School in the Chapel, while the younger ones go to a special class for their age group.

In Sunday School, children learn about Jesus and his teachings as well as Biblical stories.

They also get to make new friends and play games together!

Sunday School is led by qualified teachers who help each child grow spiritually through fun activities.

11:00 AM – Blended Worship Service in the Sanctuary

A blended worship service is a combination of traditional and contemporary styles, with a balance of elements from each. Traditional hymns and liturgy are used, but contemporary music and other elements are included. This service is held on the 1st Sunday of each month.

* All services are held in the Sanctuary with the exception of Wesley Chapel on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 8:30am.

  • The Sanctuary is located on the west side of St Mark’s United Methodist Church and is used for worship services, weddings, funerals and other special occasions. It has a balcony and pipe organ that you may enjoy as an audience member during our services!

After SunThe church offers a wide range of ministries and activities for people of all ages. The church is committed to growing its congregation through evangelism, discipleship and outreach.day School, the children are dismissed to go to their classes for crafts and other activities. In the afternoon service, children ages 4 through 11 are invited to stay with their parents in the back of the sanctuary for a worship experience that is geared toward them. Parents will receive a special bag containing age-appropriate materials that help kids learn more about God’s love and grace.

Mark’s United Methodist Church is an important part of the Portland community. We are a church that seeks to follow Jesus and live out his teachings in our lives every day. This can sometimes be challenging, but we believe that it is worth doing because God loves us so much!

After the service, kids are dismissed to go back to their classrooms for a snack and play time. The children’s area is also available throughout the week for parents who need to drop off or pick up their child(ren).
