Thanksgiving Verses In The Bible

The Bible is filled with verses about giving thanks. The Psalms, Proverbs and other books of the Bible tell us to give thanks to God for everything He has done and will do for us. We can also thank God by talking with our family and friends about what we are thankful for, as well as by doing things like volunteering or helping others in need. This Thanksgiving season, take the time to be grateful for everything you have in life—and know that it all comes from God!

Nehemiah 9:5 “And the Levites — Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah — said: “Stand up and praise the LORD your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.””

The Levites were responsible for worship in the Temple and teaching the law to the people. They were also responsible for leading the people in worship on behalf of God (Nehemiah 9:5).

Psalm 105:1 “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.”

You have been commanded to give thanks. God doesn’t expect you to do this in the same way that you would thank someone for giving you a gift, but rather by giving him praise. We are called to acknowledge the goodness of God and acknowledge his work in our lives and in all creation. We need not wait until Thanksgiving day to give thanks, but we should do so daily!

Psalm 100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” – Psalm 100:4

God’s will is for us to give thanks in all circumstances. Praise is a result of our deep appreciation for God’s kindness, mercy and goodness toward us. We can be assured of God’s faithfulness even when we don’t understand what he does because “no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God” (1 Corinthians 2:11). When you are afraid or worried about something that has happened or might happen this Thanksgiving season, remember that Jesus Christ came through death on the cross so that you could have victory over sin, death and evil!

1Thessalonians 5:18 “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Paul writes that we should give thanks to God the Father “for everything,” as it is His will for us to do so. We can give thanks to God through Jesus Christ and through him we may find our hearts filled with gratitude.

Psalm 107:1 “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

Psalm 107:1 “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

The Bible contains many references to God’s goodness and mercy, both of which are shown in the creation of Adam and Eve. The Lord also shows his compassion when he speaks with Noah about the impending flood. Even though Noah had not been faithful at first, the Lord still showed him mercy by calling him out from among those who were unbelieving. In addition to these examples, you can find many other ways that God has provided for us by his grace and mercy throughout Scripture.

Ephesians 5:20 “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Thanksgiving is one of the most important ways to show gratitude, respect and love to God. In Ephesians 5:20 Paul says “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

Thanksgiving is a way of life! It’s not just something you do on Thanksgiving day or some other special occasion but it’s something you do every day throughout your daily routine! It should be part of your daily routine because it’s easy to forget about all that God has done for us until we stop and think about it for a moment. If we didn’t have any food in our fridge would we remember how much work went into getting that food there? Or if we didn’t have any clothes would we remember how hard people worked so that they could make those clothes? If someone had taken away all the basic necessities from us would we be able to see all their good points like before? Many people don’t realize how much goes into providing such basic needs for them until they don’t have access anymore due to an emergency situation where supplies are limited or unavailable (like during earthquakes/tornadoes). So next time you’re tempted not “give thanks” because times are tough just remember how blessed you truly are by having everything needed at hand..

Psalm 50:14 “Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High.”

Psalm 50:14 says, “Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High.”

  • God is the source of all good things. We can give Him thanks for our health, family and friends as well as anything else we have been blessed with.
  • We should praise Him because He deserves it.
  • He gives us strength (Joshua 10:12). We can call on Him when we feel weak or tired or discouraged; He will give us what we need to continue serving Him in whatever we do in life (John 14:26).
  • He gives us wisdom (Proverbs 2:6) and His Word is full of wisdom that will lead us through difficult situations in life (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
  • Our salvation comes only from Him alone—there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved than Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10-12; Romans 5:1).

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Giving thanks is a way of honoring God. It’s also an expression of gratitude and appreciation, which you should be expressing every day. Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
