The Word of Wisdom

The Word of Knowledge

The Word of Knowledge is the ability to know the truth about a person, place or thing that would otherwise be unknown. This gift is not just limited to knowing facts about people; it also includes being able to discern the true intentions of others and even the will of God.

The Bible tells us that we can pray for those who have this gift, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being” (Ephesians 3:16). When we ask God for this gift, He will give us revelation so we can help equip others as they grow in their gifts and ministry.

The Gift of Faith

The Gift of Faith is the ability to believe in something that is not yet seen. This gift is incredibly important for Christians because it helps them trust God, who is unseen and intangible. The Gift of Faith can be used by Christians to help others who have been hurt or lost. For example, if you have this gift and you see someone who has suffered a loss, then your faith will encourage them to trust God as well because He cares about every detail in their life and will never leave them alone..

The Gifts of Healing

The gift of healing is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Bible also calls it a “ministry” and an “ability.” It is a supernatural ability to heal sicknesses—physical, mental, or spiritual sicknesses—in God’s name.

This gift differs from the gifts of faith and miracles in that it can be used apart from prayer. This means you don’t have to pray for someone who has been healed by your touch! The healing power comes directly from God through you and into them (Luke 5:17-24).

It’s also important to note that healing is not the same as simply praying away someone’s cancer or other disease; rather, it refers specifically to supernatural interventions such as casting out demons (Mark 16:17) or raising people back from their deathbeds (John 5:21).

Working of Miracles

Miracles are supernatural events, including the ability to perform miracles. They can be done by both God and man. The following is a list of the spiritual gifts that are involved in working miracles:

  • Healing the sick
  • Raising the dead
  • Casting out evil spirits from people or places
  • Prophesying (telling what will happen)
  • Speaking in tongues (the language of angels) and interpreting it for others

Prophecy

Prophecy is the ability to speak God’s Word. It is one of the gifts of the Spirit given to the church: “If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in church and speak to himself and God” (1 Corinthians 14:27-28).

Prophecy can be used for edification or instruction of others in a public setting (1 Corinthians 14:3) or private setting (1 Corinthians 14:30). The gift of prophecy has spiritual insight associated with it as well as speaking out loud what God has revealed to you.

The Bible tells us that prophets were given visions from God so they could share them with others (Isaiah 6:5). They also have boldness when sharing these visions because they know directly from God what needs to be done (Jeremiah 1:7-8).

Different Kinds of Tongues

There are different kinds of tongues.

The Holy Spirit can give you a special gift to speak in a language that others do not understand. It is also called the “gift of tongues,” because it’s done with God’s help, just like many other spiritual gifts. This gift is given by God through the power of the Holy Spirit, and not everyone has it. To receive this gift, you must pray and ask God for it with faith in him (1 Corinthians 14:2).

The Interpretation of Tongues

The gift of interpretation is the ability to understand what is being said in another language. It is not the same as the gift of tongues or prophecy, but it may be accompanied by either one or both of these gifts. For example, if you are speaking in tongues and someone interprets what you’re saying into English for those who don’t speak your language, then it would be considered an act of interpretation.

On the other hand, if your friend has a dream about something that will happen tomorrow but doesn’t know how to interpret it herself—and so asks for help from someone else who does have that gift—then she’s most likely asking for help with prophecy rather than interpretation because she already knows what happened; all she needs now is some guidance on how best to deal with it (or perhaps just confirmation).
