What Does The Bible Say About Menstruation
The Bible is an ancient text that has had a profound impact on Western culture. It’s also one of the most misunderstood books on the planet. So, it’s no surprise that the Bible has a lot to say about menstruation and women. In fact, some argue that menstrual blood actually kept Jesus from being crucified! But what does “menstruation” even mean?
Leviticus 15:19-24 “‘When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening. Anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. Anyone who touches her bed must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. Anyone who touches anything she sits on must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, they will be unclean till evening. If a man has sexual relations with her and her monthly flow touches him, he will be unclean for seven days; any bed he lies on will be unclean.
Menstruation is a normal part of life. Menstruation is a time of impurity for women, during which they cannot enter the holy place or serve as priests or Levites. Leviticus 15:19-24 says that when a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening. Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it they will become defiled provided that this procedure had been followed before sunset! If a man has sexual relations with her while he’s in this state then any bedding used by him becomes “defiled”.
That’s why women are considered unclean during their periods. Because God made the sun, and since menstruation is caused by the sun heating up air above the ground (and thus causing water to fall), then it must be God’s fault.
Genesis 31:35 She said to her father, “Don’t be angry, my lord, that I cannot stand up in your presence; I’m having my period.” So he searched but could not find the household gods.
The Bible says that women are unclean during their periods, and this belief has been passed down through the generations since it was first written in the book of Genesis. Women who were menstruating could not participate in religious ceremonies or even touch a holy object because they were believed to be impure.
In Genesis 31:35, Rachel tells her father Jacob that she cannot stand before him due to being on her period. She says, “Don’t be angry, my lord, that I cannot stand up in your presence; I’m having my period.”
This verse shows how society viewed menstruation at the time of the Bible’s writing; it was seen as an affliction that required isolation from others. This belief was passed down throughout history until today when many people still believe women should stay home while they’re on their periods because they think it’s dirty or disgusting for them to go out into public while bleeding from their vaginas!
The same applies to any man who has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period. Both of them will be “unclean” until evening and anyone who touches either of them will also become unclean.
You must keep the women far away from the Tent of Meeting until evening. This is a law for all time for Israel.
The Bible has plenty to say about menstruation and how women are viewed in society because of it.
Menstruation is a natural part of life, and yet it has been stigmatised throughout history. The Bible says that women are unclean during their periods, and that they should not have sexual relations or be intimate with their partners during this time. This can lead to feelings of shame for many women around the world who live according to Christian doctrine.
Women who follow Christian teachings may feel guilty about having sex while on their period, but there is no reason why they should feel this way! In fact, there are many other ways for couples to show love for each other than through intercourse alone: holding hands or giving massages can make both parties feel closer even though they aren’t engaging in traditional sexual activities together at that moment in time (or every day).
The Bible has a lot to say about menstruation and how women are viewed in society because of it. The verses show us that this was an accepted practice in Biblical times, but they also show us how we should treat women today. Menstruating women should not be separated from the rest of society; they should be treated with respect and compassion just like anyone else would be treated
